5 Ways to Deal with Social Anxiety

Walking into a crowded room, store or classroom may seem like a nightmare.  Even reading those words may start to stress you out.  If you’re one of the thousands out there that deal with social anxiety, you have to know that you’re not alone and there are so many great things that you can do to help get rid of it.  As long as you have the will power and motivation to get rid of this anxiety, you can feel like a whole new person in not time.  To help you with your anxiety, here are five things you can do to get rid of it for good:

#1 Turn it into a Positive

The first thing that you probably think of when you enter a situation is probably something negative, right?  Well, it’s time to change that.  By simply thinking positive, it can change your whole outlook in life.  So the next time you think, “Oh my! That person is looking at me.”  You may want to think, “Wow! That person looks like someone I can potentially get along with.  Maybe I should go over and talk with them.”  Remember, these are human beings we are talking about.  The worst thing that they will tell you is to scram.

#2 Make a Goal

Every day of the week, make a goal to overcome your anxiety.  This can include talking to a person at the grocery store or just going somewhere you aren’t comfortable.  Remember, these goals can be either big or small.  By attempting a goal, this is a step in the right direction.

#3 Meditate

Meditation is one of the best ways to help soothe your anxiety nerves.  When you sit back and meditate, you will find that this is a wonderful way to help clear your mind.  Sit back and let your troubles, worries and stress wash away.  This is an amazing way to help relieve stress without taking any sort of medication.

#4 Be Inspired

Watch something inspirational on the Internet or even read a book.  When you read or hear things that are inspiring, this can really help you throughout your life.  YouTube and the Internet is filled with so many great resources that can help you with your daily anxiety problems.

#5 Get Help

As a last resort, try to talk with somebody if you think that your anxiety problem is getting out of control.  Remember, you’re only living this life once!  Do you really want to live day by day in fear?  No!  You have to get out there and meet new people.  By meeting new people, this is the path to having fun and leaving a nice healthy life.  If you feel that you need help, consider talking with a family member, close friend or even a professional therapist.

These are all great things that you can do to help fight this anxiety.  What you’re going to find is that if you have the motivation to do so, anything is possible!

When I was in high school, I used to deal with a social anxiety.  I used to be afraid to talk to people, I would avoid people that I kind of knew and I would always walk around with my head down.One day, I just knew that enough was enough.  I knew that I was put on this planet for a reason and this is no way to live.  Since I didn’t have much money, I decided to take things in my own hands.  I would do limited research on the Internet (wasn’t big back then) and I would read book after book.  I found that if you had a goal in mind, you thought about it daily and acted upon it, there was no reason you dreams couldn’t come true.  So I have to say this to you…
